When Marcia, Simon, Jenna and Marcellus help Beetle clean out the Wild Book Store, someone very close to Septimus's heart is hexed by one of the books. Marcia's hacking cough will not go away, so finally, after weeks and weeks of living with it, she finally listens to Milo and goes to the Wizard Tower to get it checked out. She isn't expecting anything really, just for Dandra to prescribe her something and send her on her way. To Marcia's shock, she is diagnosed with lung cancer, and Dandra tells her that she's dying.

A Darke spell is caste upon Marcia, making her powers slowly leave. Septimus is able to help her, but severely burns his hands and arms in the process of doing the spell to reverse Marcia's Darke spell. Marcia blames herself for his burns, and things just go downhill.

The events that unfolded in Magyk have nothing on what's going on now. Merrin, kind boy that he is, is kidnapped by old supporters of DomDaniel. What's Worse, they want to use Darke Magyk to bring him Back to Lyfe - in Merrin's body! Merrin doesn't want this, and neither do Jenna and Septimus. And honestly, Aunt Zelda's grown too attached to the boy to see him possessed.

Septimus was taken by DomDaniel A Necromancer and ex-ExtraOrdinary Wizard, and trained him everthing on how to be a Necromancer and Wizard. He then branded 3 black stars on his chest. He found a dragon egg and helped it hatch and found out it was a girl. He then lived with the witches in the forest he then went into the young army for a few years.
