Rita Vrataski never dreamed she'd be a soldier, yet here she is. With death surrounding her daily and feeling hopeless about seeing her loved ones again, Rita starts hardening again. Faced with death, she reflects on her history with Luke Wright; it becomes clearer that she really does want him back in her life. But how does one come back from breaking a heart? (Part II of III)
Two characters gaining closure. Not necessarily romantic but it can be.
Rita Vrataski prides herself on being tough and emotionless, but one person in the world knows her past and has seen the vulnerable side of her: Luke Wright. An assassin trained from childhood, Luke has always known a fight of some kind, and when he gets the power to reset the day in the War of the Mimics, he's back in Rita's life. Together, they have to fight to save humankind.
William Cage spends years in the loop fighting the Mimics. On their defeat he wishes for nothing more than a life with Rita. But he will learn his encounter with the Omega has forever changed him.
Set during the movie. "He is glad he gets the chances to know her." Drabbles.
A guest prompt: A version where Rita does walk away from the helicopter like Cage wanted her to. What happens?
Third chronologically in my own EoT universe. The three little words that are often the hardest to say...
Life didn't exactly turn out the way he had expected it to. (This is my take on what happens afterward. Rating will change as the story progresses. Warnings inside.)
"He tells her to follow him, makes his way back onto the beach. Remembers how she stares at him, disbelieving. Remembers his confusion when she throws down her sword. 'Find me when you wake up.'" Progression of Cage's relationship with Rita as he loops through the movie. RitaxCage
The overall story helps to tie-up some loose ends that we are hinted at by the film's end with Chapter 1 setting the stage. What reason could Cage possibly have had to gather so much detail about his team-mates? What circumstance gave him the idea? Enough questions. Let's find out.
What if Rita could reset with Cage? What if she could reset and remember what happened before? Finally a relationship can form.
Pacific Rim AU: Rita Vrataski, a seasoned veteran in the war against the Mimics has lost another drift partner. She is thrown together with William Cage, a Major with no clue how to fight. Will they learn to work together and survive? Or will Cage become just another casualty in his quest for redemption for the sins of his past? Rating is merely a precaution...
After the movie 'Edge Of Tomorrow', the story continues right after that. Cage spends his time trying to win Rita's heart, while still going about his duties around the camp. But when something comes up, the Major starts to doubt his safety and the planet's. Soon Cage starts to run into complications and Rita is left to go into action.
Cage finds himself locked into a new loop, and facing a new invasion, years in the future. Should he plan for that? Nah, let's just mess with everyone. Unfortunately, destiny seems to disagree, but screw destiny, darn it!
In addition to seeing visions in-between loops, soon enough William Cage begins to hear a voice as well. A voice, he assumes, that can only belong to one being. And what it has to say is quite interesting, to say the least. It wants to meet, and discuss something of interest to both humanity and the Mimics. One-shot.
Some nightmares you can't wake up from, no matter how many times you try. - Fusion with the Movie Edge of Tomorrow (2014)
Early on Cage has to find a reason to become the soldier he's never had to be.
Prompt: Cage does not lose the power. After the ambush and car crash in London, they get arrested but Cage doesn't get a transfusion and lose the power. What would happen?
Even when two days are identical, it doesn't mean they're the same. Or my take on the caffeteria scene from All you need is kill. One-shot.
During the year 2035 soldiers die in droves defending Earth against an Alien attack. A desperate scientist battles to create a human capable of fighting back. An enlisted soldier struggles to survive long enough to go home to her loved ones. When she finds herself on death's doorstep an unlikely bond must form between her and the scientist who has genetically modified her. OOC & AU
A prompt fic for Kevin. First prompt: What would it be like if Rita killed the omega, not Cage? How would she contact him? Second prompt revealed inside. Rated T to be safe.
Sequel to "Sometimes the End is a Beginning". What more was William Cage to Rita than a friend? What more could he hope for?
Once an Omega has been killed, there's not a lot it can do to rectify the situation; the reset following its destruction, then, came from somewhere else. Or, in which Cage may or may not have just become an accidental Time Lord.
Prequel story to how Rita became "The Angel of Verdun." rated T for violence, and language.
Cage tries to answer Rita's question, "What does it matter what happens to me?" Fair warning! *SPOILERS WITHIN* Rated T, just to be safe.
Set during the movie. William cage knew the definition of heart break.
Continues from the ending of the movie. "I'm sorry, do I know you?" She finds herself asking. His shoulders tense inexplicably, eyes swirling with emotion she couldn't comprehend. "No."
The Omega is defeated. J Squad is dead. The Angel of Verdun no longer. Cage dies with honor. But what should have ended as victory with noble sacrifices did not. As the old saying goes, fortune favors the brave, and by chance, Cage regained the ability to time-reset one more time and woke up in the past, victorious. This short story is a continuation of where the film left off.
An alternate ending drabble of Edge of Tomorrow because I loved the movie. What if Rita Vrataski felt the connection between her and William Cage? How would she react to the truth of their past? "How many times did you watch me die?" "Too many Rita. Too damn many."
Caught in a time loop that resets the day when he dies, soldier Kiriya Keiji learned to use it to his advantage in his battle against the alien Mimics. Now, after getting stuck in the past for so long, he will be the one that decides the future of humanity. Based on the light novel "All You Need Is Kill" by Hiroshi Sakurazaka.
