Wendy is a girl who has lived at home with her guardians her entire life and has never been outside to meet other kids. When her aunts decide to let her explore the neighborhood known as Harvey Street, she decides to make some new friends at the insistence of her aunts and soon meet Audrey Smith, Lotta Plump, and Dot Polka and they have adventures together as Harvey Street Girls.
