Christine decides to accompany La'an across the galaxy while trying to help Oriana find her family. On their quest they face many difficulties including an accidental marriage that becomes too real, and one certain Commander Chin-Riley who has too much fun with this knowledge.
Following Chapel & La'an post s01e05. The story follows on from 'Fully Aware,' 'Warm Air Like Treacle' and 'And Hope To Die', which provide some context but aren't essential reading.
In the Terran Universe, Enterprise is returning home in triumph after five years of conquests expanding Georgiou's possessions. Gabriel Lorca is plotting to seize power. Una calls Erica to the ready room before things get out of hand.
La'an finds out Christine is ticklish.
Una surprises Erica.
Erica knew Keyla was the one since she first laid eyes on her.
While locked up, Una finds out who told Starfleet Command she is Illyrian.
Una loves how experienced Erica is.
Erica knows how to distract Una from her problems.
Once the physical injuries from Talos healed, Chris moved on. He met someone special and each time the moment was right he pulled back. Unwilling to trust himself. Unsure if the attraction and his feelings were real. Then he realized or rather admitted the Talos incident was more than kidnapping, imprisonment, and mind-control. And that perhaps there was no way back.

Chapel hooked up with a stranger, a Keih. Two days later he joins Enterprise's crew. For Chapel, Laskaris was a good time she has no wish to repeat, for him she's much, much more. She is also busy hiding her attraction to Spock. Oh and according to Keih she and Laskaris are now engaged. Laskaris is telekinetic. Chapel/OC, Chapel/Spock, Chapel & Spock.
Unable to directly intervene Pike must wait after the newest crewman under his command leaps into danger. Pike mentors Spock through the possibility of losing someone under his command, a first for the young Vulcan. Enterprise & Shenzhou work behind the scenes to aid a group of orphans trying to reach safety in the midst of war. Saru, Georgiou, Burhman. Pre-Relationsip Pike/Aalin.
Pike/Chapel is NOT NOT NOT a pairing I've ever wanted to do. But the muse would not stop murmuring that she wanted me to. I also don't do omniscient very often but she and the characters demanded it. I hope you enjoy it. Please don't kill me.
Spock is not given to dreams. When he does dream, they are nightmares. So why does he now have a dream that is not a nightmare? Why does he dream of a human, of Christine? Set after the re-bonding scene with T'Pring in "The Serene Squall" but in place of Spock's talk with Chapel in sickbay. This is just a one off. Not part of the series.
Summary: Negotiations with the Tholians goes sideways, leaving Pike and crew to deal with the mess.
