Picard/Crusher. When Q feels that he's been somehow deprived, he decides to take what he wants from Jean-Luc and Beverly, who will take any challenge necessary to get back what's most precious to them.

Crusher/Troi. The heart wants what it wants, and it won't be denied. Of course, once they found each other, neither really wanted to deny the other anything. (Rated for future chapters.)

When Carol ends up in the small town of Liberty with her daughter, she finds herself among a crowd of people that seem like they might not be the most desirable bunch. As an outsider herself, she soon discovers that she can't judge a book by its cover and sometimes the most unlikely of people can become the closest family.
