Being a detective is all about solving puzzles; homicide detectives get the worst puzzles to solve. A quick look at Dee and Ryo investigating the scene of a violent murder. Contains possibly disturbing images of a murder scene and irreverent black humour. Written for Challenge #91: Puzzles at fan flashworks.
Dee's only trying to help, so why does Ryo keep throwing him out of the apartment? Firmly set during Back Stage Pass 2, this was my second piece Challenge #90 at fan flashworks. I opted to stop short of the adult action, mainly because that didn't really fit the doorways theme. Besides, it was really all the door slamming, and the reasons behind it, that interested me.
Being one of a kind isn't a good thing. Jack knows that only too well. Written for the prompt 'Being unique is highly overrated' at fic promptly. Another angsty one; there are brief mentions of Rose and the Doctor, but this is really all about Jack.
Jack sometimes misses being able to watch the sunrise. Here's something more cheerful to make up for yesterday's gloom. Written for the prompt 'Torchwood, Jack, sometimes he misses dawn.' at fic promptly, this one's set far in the future. Hope you enjoy it!
Jack and Ianto are out driving in the Welsh countryside, but are they lost or aren't they? There seems to be a difference of opinion... Just a short, silly ficlet, originally written for a comment fic prompt.
Ryo is shocked by his own behaviour and wonders if Dee can forgive him. Set in Vol. 5, towards the end of Act 14, this was my fic for Challenge #88: Hot Water at fan flashworks. The first line of dialogue is borrowed from the manga. I love this scene, so it was interesting trying to get inside Ryo's head and work out what he was thinking.
Dee thinks about what makes a family. Written for Challenge #89: Family at fan flashworks, this is set after the manga, but refers to events chronicled in Vol. 6, Act 18. Dee was abandoned as a baby, he never knew his parents, but does that mean he doesn't have a family?
Dee is beyond frustrated with being interrupted every time he tries to show Ryo just what he's missing out on. Set around Vol. 2, Act 6 & Vol. 6, Act 17 mostly, this one was written for the fan flashworks Amnesty round, using Challenge #29: Interruptions. Dee's line of dialogue is borrowed from the manga.
Which monsters are the most monstrous? Jack can't decide. This little ficlet was my fan flashworks entry for Challenge 85 - Monsters. Yes, really original title, isn't it? LOL! Small spoilers for Day One, Small Worlds, Something Borrowed and bigger ones for Meat.
A routine retrieval causes some very unexpected problems for Jack and Ianto. My last fic for my cottoncandy bingo card, this is a three-parter written for three seperate promts - Miniatures, Adventure/Quest, and window. That will give me a blackout in my first ever bingo - all 25 squares! Thanks to everyone for their support and encouragement: you rock!
Nigel the Garden Dragon is travelling to his new home when he finds himself somewhere else entirely. Can his new friends help him to get home before he's missed? Written for, and with the kind permission of, my friend lexxiescott, who owns Nigel. Hope you enjoy Nigel's adventure as much as he does.
An artist becomes fascinated by two men she keeps seeing throughout summer as she sketches on the Plass. Written for my cottoncandy bingo square Sketch/Draw. This is a bit different because it's written from an outsider's point of view, but I hope you'll give it a chance. There's plenty of Jack & Ianto towards the end.
It's surprising where a few compliments can lead… Another of my cottoncandy bingo fics, this one's for the Compliments square. Ianto's thoughts are in italics. While it's canon-compliant through the first season, it goes a little AU from the middle of season two with Owen and Tosh surviving. They're not exactly IN the story, just mentioned.
Jack, Ianto and their daughter Meriel take the family pet to the beach. This is sort of a sequel to 'The Most Beautiful Sight' and it's another cottoncandy bingo fic, this time for the prompt Innocent/Innocence.
The House of the Dead is destroyed, the Rift closed. What of Ianto? This is the story of Ianto's adventures after he finds himself somewhere he NEVER expected to be. Chapter 1 was written for the recent fan flashworks Amnesty Challenge; future chapters will most likely be inspired by future challenges, Very much a WiP, in that I have no idea what will happen next. Eventual Janto.
Dawn is old now, but sometimes she remembers… This is kind of a weird one, written for the prompt 'Buffy tVS, Dawn, when she's very, very old she seems to remember a story about being something else,' at fic promptly.
Valentine's Day is causing problems for Dee and Ryo. This was originally just a double drabble from Dee's POV, but is now going to be a three-parter, the final part being about Valentine's Day itself. Hopefully I'll get it finished in time!
Fortune cookies can work miracles. Written for my own Fortune Cookie Generator prompt 'Torchwood, Tosh, "You are extremely loved, don't worry",' at fic promptly. Something mushy for romantics.
January in Cardiff is relentlessly grey and dreary. The whole city seems to have the winter blues. A quick ficlet written for the prompt 'another grey day in the city,' at fic promptly.
The Doctor hadn't known he'd needed her until he met her. Written for the prompt 'Doctor Who, Ten and Donna, he never knew he needed her until she unexpectedly appeared in his TARDIS' at fic promptly.
