Remus suffers an internal battle while trying his best to dissuade Tonks from pursuing him. Alas, sometimes we are powerless to certain emotions. In the war of heart and mind, heart prevails.

After a long Order meeting, Remus Lupin exits the room without as so much as a goodbye to Nymphadora Tonks. Slightly discouraged, she attempts to head home for the night. Sirius, however, has other plans in mind. And she's very glad she listened.

Four years after Tonks' death, Remus and Teddy Lupin visit her grave. Questions are asked, answers are offered and they end up with an unexpected visitor.

What would happen if Remus survived The Battle of Hogwarts while his wife did not? Remus grieves, returning home to his son and mother-in-law, wondering how he's supposed to go on.

Albus Dumbledore is dead. Tonks grieves while trying to cope with her own broken heart before being approached by a regretful Remus.

Remus decides that he must leave Nymphadora regardless of the pain it will cause the both of them because he knows that she will be better off without him. As expected, she doesn't agree.
