Sirius' and Remus' love turns sour in light of the war and everything it brings to the surface, namely Sirius' doubt and suspicion about the werewolf he's come to love.

Sirius comes home to find Remus' job interview hadn't gone as well as hoped. Remus is upset, and Sirius holds himself partially responsible. Remus loathes his condition, but on this occasion Sirius provides the comfort the werewolf needs.

Remus is hurt badly after a full moon and Sirius blames himself.

Sirius is troubled about what to get Remus for his birthday.

Remus is sick with the flu but out of sheer brute force Sirius takes care of him.

It's the summer before their Seventh Year. Sirius turns up at Remus' by the dead of night. It's been two months since they've last seen each other, so when they finally do it's in a rush of love and affection, expressed through a burning embrace.
