James, clearly stumped as to why he hadn't provoked a response from her yet, decided to sit beside the redhead and peer casually over her parchment to read her homework.
"Don't I get a kiss for good luck?" James smirked, raising his eyebrows in false innocence. "Never." Lily replied, almost too quickly. "Just do your job."
Lily has an announcement to make. I felt like writing something fluffy, so here it is.
"Oh please, Severus, don't sit next to a muggleborn like me." She spoke in a clipped voice, each word drenched with contempt. "Merlin knows what your Death Eater friends would say if they saw you in the company of such filth."
This was sheer torture to experience, every single day without rest. He watched from the other side of the Great Hall as Lily Evans ate dinner happily, laughing and talking with her friends, not paying the slightest attention to him, her eyes not flickering towards him even once.
