During From the Heart, Shane's plaintive question to Oliver, "Am I too late for dinner?" broke my heart on a deeper level. The gut-wrenching look and tone made me seriously wonder, "Who hurt you, Shane?" And this fic came to being. Part of the Between the Altars series and follows Family Ties. WARNING: Major married themes and conversations, but still a T rating IMO.
June 2022, Oliver, Shane, Norman and Rita go back in time to try to deliver a letter written in World War II. At the same time, a surprise party is being planned at the DLO. This story is a brief reflection on the upended date in Higher Ground. The characters and the basis for this story are from the pen of Martha Williamson.
Someone posed the question a while back asking what the conversation inside the car, at the end of For Christmas, must have been to convince Shane, Rita and Norman to return to the DLO. Ideas started swirling and I decided to write my first fan fiction for SSD. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
The late night after their wedding takes its toll on Oliver and Shane. Set immediately after "The Vows We Have Made." One-shot.
The sequel to Second Thoughts in which Oliver continues to contemplate his letter to Holly.
Every rewatch of Home Again results in the collective POstable groan: WHY did Oliver not kiss Shane before he dashed off to New York? So, here y'all go, a ficlet to remedy that oversight. (Note: this follows the storyline established with The In-Between, but you don't have to read it first.)
"Yes, Mr O'Toole?" she asked against his lips. Her tone was innocent… but her eyes (and hand) were pure trouble. And he suddenly understood, possibly for the first time in his life, why 'trouble' could be fun.
A ShOliver multi-chapter fic set at the end of The Vows We have Made. While this story's focus is the happy newlyweds, it will also explore the lives of all our favorite characters from the show. (Warning: Sometimes will contain mild, suggestive married adult themes)
This is a little piece of fluff that has been rolling around my head ever since I saw 'The Vows We Have Made' and a twitter discussion reminded me of it. I think that Shane planned a different present before all of the stuff with Dunbarton happened. What was it? Here is my take on what it might be.
Shane is moving to a new city. But what is she really thinking? How is she processing the changes in her life? I did initially think that Shane would keep an electronic diary, but then again, maybe she wouldn't as she might have some artwork that would accompany these images. Maybe these will get shared too! Let's start at the very beginning - Shane is joining the DLO.
A conversation between Shane & Oliver in the hospital chapel. This short story is inspired by "Lost Without You" & occurs where that movie ends.
A one-shot series spun-off from "Finding Hope" What will Hope do next? Read and find out.
Shane has just returned home from Langley, what will her first week back look like?
When we left Shane and Oliver at the end of Impossible Dream, they were on the same page, happily saying "I love you" without words. But in From the Heart, they seemed to not only be on different pages but possibly reading different books. So what happened? Maybe something like this ... (A fill-in-the-gap story spanning the 7 months between Impossible Dream & From the Heart.)
Set between Treasure Box and A Hope and A Future and pulling from Something Good and Dark of Night. Oliver contemplates his growing feelings for Shane and, after their release from the immediacy and intensity in the bank vault, rereads the letter he wrote to Holly and questions its message.

Come on, you all want to know what Holly's poetry was like! I tried to make it pretty terrible and completely lacking in any self-awareness. I also do not speak French at all so the French is completely what online translating give me - but it does sound better in French (wich is good because it is awful in English). Sorry about the line breaks - can't add any!
A ShOliver post-Vows honeymoon ficlet and companion piece to In the Gloaming. (Also contains suggestive married adult themes.)
How will the POstables respond when faced with a global crisis that affects them professionally and personally? Will Oliver and Shane's wedding and marriage be delayed or will they compromise and change their plans in the midst of uncertainty?
Set at the end of To The Altar, this will be a multi chapter fic. R&R please, it would be greatly appreciated. All characters belong to the incredibly talented Martha Williamson.
I have put to paper something that has been rattling around for a while. I really like to know the etymology of words (I was forced to learn Greek and Latin roots as a child and am thankful I did). The meanings of names is also interesting, and although I know other authors have played on this same field, here is my humble attempt. What would Shane and Oliver call a child?
Oliver's contemplation the night before the wedding.
Shane and Oliver encounter an unexpected bump on their way to going steady. Occurs in between Higher Ground and Home Again, hence the title.
Everyone is looking forward to Valentine's Day, but not everything goes according to plan.
