NOT a new story. Just worked it a bit. Thanks for understanding. Banged up a bit in a convoy attack, Troy could have sworn he heard more than the night wind on the desert.
David Troy is used to being the older brother of the The Rat Patrol's leader, be the ramifications good or bad-but this time, he's not the only one being used as bait.
If it a cosmic joke or something else, some related to the Rat Patrol fall back through time and find themselves tangling with history of someone else's making.
Long ignored homesickness hits the two youngest Rats like a ton of bricks after a party hosted by Boggs. Hitch meanwhile notices Tully needs to know how thankful he is for all that his buddy does for the Patrol
A night on the town for Tully and Hitch takes a turn for the worse. A distinctly downward turn, in fact.
After a battle, the Rat Patrol heads for a well to regroup.
Troy is behind German lines trying to rescue a trapped Rat.
The Rat Patrol are assigned to check out a German ammo dump
For my 13th Rat Patrol submission, I'm doing a Friday the 13th story. Note: This is not a horror story but a look at superstitions of various groups. Also I am not using 'Libya', since it didn't become a Kingdom until 1951. I am instead using the regions of Tripolitania, Fezzan and Cyrenaica. Finally, I just can't seem to write a story without our favorite German, Dietrich.
Up to now, we've seen camels, half-tracks, Kubelwagens, and a host of other modes of transportation on the desert. What's left? Bicycles!
Captain Dietrich must survive Stalag 13 while disguised as Sgt. Troy
The latest rumor about Captain Dietrich spurs a team discussion about their future. Humor (I hope)
The Rats are sent to find and destroy a hidden cache of German munitions. Tully has misgivings about the mission, but they shall all have to race the clock when the unthinkable happens!
A vigilante German major is raining destruction on innocent Arabs and Allied convoys alike. Can Troy and the rest of the Rat Patrol, with Dietrich's blessing, bring him to his knees?
A sequel to "Gates of Hell". Thanks for the suggestion, Brosmom.
Planes, jeeps, halftracks, music, family, unexpected meetings and intrigue.
What's life like for the Rat Patrol (and Hauptmann Dietrich) after the War? Join the Rats as they find themselves in new situations borne out of their time in the desert. A new pair of drabbles every day.
Gum wrappers, desert snow, Christmas in mid-August. A slice of Rat Patrol life when things get slow.
Tully and Hitch are temporary reassigned to take a vising colonel to a top secret meeting. Will Dietrich interfere?
A lady is angry. The Rat Patrol, and one other, better look out.
A story about the every first episode, Cotter's death, Hitch's distress, what happened after and why Troy and Moffitt switched jeeps. Contains Minor Character Canon Death. I own nothing. Come on now people! We know this already! :) Unbeta'd
A mainly dialogue filled drabble. Hitch and Moffitt talk, then Moffitt and Troy. I own nothing as usual, if i did then Hitch would have been hurt a bunch more and there would be so much comfort you'd drown in the fluffiness of it all. Thank you for reading.
Christmas in North Africa, 1942. No one saw this coming.
Troy is captured just before the cease-fire and it is up to the others to save the day.
The Rat Patrol gather in the deserted mess tent at midnight to give each other their presents...
After the team is captured they are accused of murder. Lucky for them, Dietrich doesn't want the whole team punished, just the one who fired the shot.
What happens after Major Bracken tells Dietrich not to leave without his plasma? It has definitely been a case of "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" for both Moffitt and Dietrich. Now maybe things will settle down.
Hitch and Tully talk, a secret gets out, and fluff begins. This is pretty much all dialogue. I own nothing, including the pic, everything belongs to their proper owners in their proper places. Platonic as are all of my stories. unbeta'ed
A few hijinks in his younger years now come back to haunt Sgt. Troy. In three chapters.
The Rat Patrol has a life or death decision to make. For those of you who read/speak German, I don't! So please forgive any goofs I may have made with my attempts, via google translate, to add a bit of authenticity. Enjoy!
