Caspian knows that Narnia wants their king to have his Queen but Lucy isn't ready to be the new Queen of Narnia yet.
What would happen if in the end of LWW Edmund never left narnia? Well this is my take on what would of happened.

In doing so they discover a magical land in a wardrobe, and along the way discover each other as well. Peter/Susan pairing, Romance, Incest, blah blah blah, Rated M. Sequel to Daggers of Ice. It was little more than an inkling he felt, that something was not right. Her eyes were too green, too beautiful, and when he looked into them there were no other thoughts in his mind. And then there was the other one. She did not have a scaled emerald tail like the other witch; no, she had wings of sapphire and eyes of sky blue. Rilian never had a chance.
If he forgot how annoying his siblings were, he started to remember how much more annoying he found everyone else. Edmund would rather either of his siblings were here to talk to her. Unfortunately, unless Eustace's change of heart had made him any good at talking about feelings with fourteen-year-old sisters, Edmund was all Lucy had. Crossposted from AO3.

Peter, Edmund, and Lucy on the night Susan left Narnia behind.
Fifteen years in Narnia and her head was adorned with a laurel crown. The laurel has always been a symbol of the winner, a symbol of the king. She wasn't none of that, although she was called "Queen Lucy." Our little brave and fragile Lucy - that's how the others saw her. They didn't see all the dark secrets, the violence that hid with a cute face.
A Mermaid's Ode to the Golden Age
What is the story behind the animals and people in the White Witch's courtyard? What did they do? How did they get there?
See, Susan was different from the others. She was older than Lucy, more skeptical than Edmund, and certainly less arrogant than Peter—and so it was hard for her to believe. Still harder it was for her to move on. And so easier it became to forget.
A short fairytale, in traditional vein, set in Narnia at Christmas during the reign of the Pevensie siblings. It contains no bad language or violence.

Royalty may have a hard time in Narnia. Narnia changes so frequently that it is this point, that you can not keep up easily. This is how Ariel, a goddess in human skin, feels. She has been told her role in Narnia, but she can't keep up with the changes that come with her role.
