Set just a few weeks after Ruth has said no to a second date with Harry, the chance to work together away from the grid is handed on a plate. What happens after that will be make or break.
Sequel to All We Were and All We Are: When their blissful new life is put under threat, Harry and Ruth are left fighting for their family's lives. With the dark underbelly of a terrorist circuit revealed much closer to home, they find themselves doubting whether they can ever truly put the past, and MI-5, behind them.
It isn't until after Adam's death, that Ros appreciates the impact of losing Ruth has had on Harry. More so now when Harry finds himself looking after Wes. It's time for her to make amends by bringing her home.
Ruth has to face her demons. Can she stop history from repeating itself or has one man's determination for revenge going to be too much? Can Harry be there to catch her if she falls?
S9-10 rewrite with one major difference. Ruth says yes.
The whole of the UK are ready to celebrate the Queen's landmark Jubilee. How are our favourite spooks dealing with it all? Will they all get through the four day bonanza with their team and sanity intact?
Harry is back where he belongs. A routine meet leads to more trouble than the team can ever imagine. The past may be another country but for Harry and Lucas it is all too close to home.
Second chances are rare. The first time around, Harry ignored all his rules and let Ruth Evershed into his life, only to lose her to outside forces. When she returns, Harry vows that things will be different but only if can learn from the past.
This story has been written for the express purpose of writing one of my favourite Spooks characters. This is the first chapter, (most likely) of two. I have not yet written the next chapter, but the story feels incomplete as a one shot.
A short story about our two favourite Spooks to get me back into writing. With Harry tied up in meetings, Mace makes a visit to see Ruth on the Grid. Set early Series 5 (post date: pre cotterdam)
This story is woven around a familiar theme, and in a familiar setting, but with a different outcome. One shot only (definitely).
The following fic is AU, set 2.5 years after the end of S10. It is an experiment in using OCs to assist the narrative, as observers of our favourite couple. What started out as a one shot has become 3 chapters, which I hope will tie things off nicely.
The children of our favourite spooks have some questions. Starting with Lucas and Ros but other chapters will focus on the others. Amy and James have taken to asking a lot of questions.
A rewind from the night on the bus, to the moment when Harry realised how he felt about Ruth. Except that he's been suspended, so has to contrive a way, not only to prove that he was right to release Lewis Kurvin but to tell her. Adam who is also struggling, the linchpin.
Christmas on the Grid promises to be a little different for the team this year.
This story (currently a one shot but with potential to be expanded to one more chapter) is set late in S10, with an AU scenario in relation to the visiting Russians. Realistically, it's just another excuse/vehicle for getting H & R together.
Ruth's thoughts are interrupted as she watches the stars above Thames House. (Set early series 8).
Harry is tired. A case that has all the hallmarks of a group they all believed was long since disbanded returns to haunt them. Once again lives are at risk, the security of the British nation is threatened. Once again it falls to Section D and Harry's team to get to the bottom of the mess. Will they be able to? Can Ruth catch Harry before he falls?
A broken Spook, a semi-broken Auror, liaising between the Muggle and Wizarding worlds. Trying to keep the world from falling into chaos. Essentiallya rewriting of Series 8 of Spooks with a wizarding element to Nightingale. Series 7 and beginning of Series 8 of Spooks are compressed into approx. 8 months preceding this. Harry's 6th-7th years & the war are different than canon.
This one shot is a follow up story to "Flirting", and it may help if you read that first, although this story can stand alone. Set mid S.5 (and where Cotterdam did not happen, and perhaps O. Mace could have found another Section head to target) Ruth and Harry go on their second dinner date ... even though Ruth still has some reservations.
Harry is feeling depressed and lonely as Remembrance Day approaches. Ruth's death was only the last in a long series making him question himself and the nature of his service to the state. Can an unexpected ghost from his past make him feel that he has not wasted his life? Kudos has the character copyright.
'It all comes down to you.' The last in the Harry, Ruth, Kodaline series.
A short Valentine's tale with a slightly bizarre title.
No one else is home, just you and the animals, and you sigh again, missing him, as you set about your evening routine. Set in an AU universe, and written in the same style as 'My Own Prison' and 'Anywhere But Here', I'm embracing a new style of writing and embracing what I write without going back over to revise. Hope you enjoy!
The Spooks from Series 5 and some festive silliness.
Back on the Grid but still coming to terms with his past, Lucas is working hard to regain the trust of his colleagues, when the death of an old friend has unforetold consequences. Meanwhile, a trickle of illicit diamonds smuggled from West Africa leads to
My first attempt at writing something in the first person, so please be gentle with me. Set sometime during season 9 and told from Harry's POV. Reviews are very much appreciated. Cheers, S.C.
Set post S10, and Harry is still wallowing in grief a year later. He's so lonely and he doesn't know how to carry on. Hopeful one shot. Now edited to be a two shot.
Harry is thinking about Ruth, whilst sitting on a bench, their bench.
In the wake of Harry's proposal after Ros' funeral, he takes an unnecessary risk, leaving Ruth to reconsider her decision to turn him down. 4 chapters, with brief appearances by other S.9 characters.
