Leander was fighting well. But the title says it, he got distracted. At least they're all okay for now! Minor hurt, nothing descriptive. I don't own Ranger's Apprentice, but the plot is mine. This story is from the 'Early Years' series, not the main books.
One mission, one mistake, one potion to destroy. Dark eyes, once so lovingly, pierced without remorse through the night. Suddenly Will realized the poison was not meant to kill the consumer, it was to kill the other. Could he fight, and win, against his mentor? (Don't worry, no character death).
Everything goes wrong in the Battle for Skandia. Ragnak survives the battle and kills Cassandra, and both Horace and Halt die trying to protect her. In Will's last moments, he begs desperately for another chance. When Will wakes up, he is 15. Today is Choosing Day. Time to do it all again.
Hiraeth: a homesickness for a place you can never return to, a place that maybe never was, the nostalgia, yearning, and grief for the lost places of your past. Morgarath gets the chance to turn back time and takes the opportunity to try and ensure his victory by taking Halt out of the picture. What if Pritchard was killed instead of banished and Halt never came to Araluen? (AU)
The group of rangers that defeated Morgarath have made it a tradition to visit the ruins of Gorlan every year. However, when Leander doesn't return from a hunting trip, they start to regret ever coming... Basically Leander gets tortured by Morgarath while the others try to find him. Rated T for torture and fighting.
As promised, my rewritten version of RA book 4 (and beyond). When Will and Halt reunite, it seems that the events from the slaveyard is still haunting the young ranger. Piece by piece, Halt discovers how much really happened and searches for a way to help Will overcome his addiction and trauma.
It's the end of the war. Harry is jumpy. Hermione is an emotional wreck. Ron had tragically died before the war ended and the war has left it's toll on Hogwarts. Meanwhile, Rangers Halt and Will have spotted some boar tracks and something else... An accident leaves Harry and Hermione in a totally different world than they're familiar with - one with Kings, and Kings Rangers.
Gilan is in a bad way... and glass? Glass is fragile. AKA the story that uses far more poetic imagery than necessary.
Will, Halt, Horace, and Alyss don't have much time. Horace goes to the land of Nihon-Ja, learns that the Emperor has been overthrown, and he is caught into a war that he can't interfere in. To find a way to negotiate between two countries, Toscana and Nihon-Ja, restore the Emperor to the throne, they must restore peace before it's too late. J. Flanagan owns everything. I do not.
But, perhaps, not here. (Or, Halt finds an unusual tavern.) [Second story in the Rock and a Hard Place crossover series, featuring characters from Tolkien, Marvel, Harry Potter, and Dune.]
When an enemy seeks revenge on Halt, he is forced into making a terrible choice with disastrous consequences, leaving everyone to pick up the pieces of shattered trust. (Takes place around the time of the Lost Stories.)
Alyss is being held prisoner by Sir Keren in Castle Macindaw. Will rescues her but gets captured himself and is tortured for information by Sir Keren. Horace helps Will escape.
Ranger Halt of course deeply enjoys forcing his apprentices to do all the housework. Little do we know that it is a long-held tradition that every ranger has their own unique way to torture their apprentices, and the poor children never realize until their first gathering which of their mentor's habits are out of the ordinary. Here are some of their tales.
Wilt Christmas oneshot. Baron Arald has invited Redmont's Rangers to a holiday party at the castle. Halt is not amused, but maybe going to this party will allow him to finally figure out his feelings regarding his apprentice. Description's kinda crap as usual, but I think it's a good story so...
Duncan gets two books called The Icebound Land and the Oakleaf bearers. Realising they hold the key to his daughter and Ranger Will's time calls a meeting fir them all to read them...
Another 12 days of Rangers where I will post my story in 12 days to cheer us all up for Christmas. This year Will and Alyss are on a mission to Picta which of course doesn't go as planned. Besides everything does Alyss carry a secret that may change their lives forever.
Inspired by LostAndLonging's Willpower. Will and Evanlyn decide not to tell Halt and the others about Will's Warmweed stint during the Battle of Skandia. Budding romance between Will and Evanlyn. Will will eventually end up in the Royal Scouts if I write that far!
Running into the burning inn takes seconds. Healing takes far longer.
The events of Battle for Skandia but with one vital difference: Will does not tell Halt about what really happened when he was a slave. Together, Evanlyn and Will decide to keep the warmweed addiction a secret, fearing that revealing it could get Will expelled from the Ranger Corps. However, Halt is not as fooled as they think...
A collection of Ranger's Apprentice short stories or oneshots, some of which are additional scenes to the novels themselves and others are just random ideas with little to no correlation to the main plot line. If you have any story ideas or prompts, please let me know!
It was simply indescribable. A promise etched onto his heart and mind, committing himself to loving and protecting this small body as long as he breathed. A story in which Will has his first conversation with his son.
