It's the end of the war. Harry is jumpy. Hermione is an emotional wreck. Ron had tragically died before the war ended and the war has left it's toll on Hogwarts. After returning from Nihon Ja, Will finds himself and tug with only basic supplies in a lake, the very lake Katniss's father told her about before he died. Will quickly figures out the situation and finds District 12, and meets Katniss and Gale. The Capitol don't know what's in store, because a Ranger in the Hunger Games is a recipe for trouble, for the makers of the Hunger Games.

Arya's spell was modified at the last second to summon help to return the Riders to Alagaesia. It happened to coincide with a reunion between the five wardmates in Araluen - Will, Horace, Alyss, Jenny, and George, a year after Nihon Ja. Will any of them become Riders?
