Based on the comic at the back of the UK version of City of Heavenly Fire. This story explores Tessa's grief and recovery in the years after 1937. There are ghosts and I might have cried when I wrote it.
Will's been best friends with Jem since the sixth grade, always able to rely on him as a constant pillar of support. But when he realizes his feelings for the other go beyond friendship, his entire world shifts. Struggling with the obstacles thrown at him by high school and the people around them, Will drags them both down a dark road they may never be able to find their way off.

Tessa's contemplating life after Jem's death, when a mysterious letter arrives. It's a horrible summary, I know, but the content is much better.
And he knew, in that moment, with Tessa's head on his shoulder and Jem's hand in his, that he would forever be warm. Because Hell was far too cold for him.
