Riddle's Writing

Somehow, a small black diary has appeared in Hermione's bag. The best thing to do would be to write in it, yes? And, who exactly is this high and mighty Tom Riddle? Why is he so interested in Hermione's world? Of course, she figures, if she was writing to somebody who wrote back in a different era, she'd do the same.
