Had things been different

This is a retelling of Gaskell's North and South, but with a twist. At the beginning of our story, when Margaret is propositioned by Henry Lennox, she feels obligated to agree. (I've used a bit of poetic license with her reasons). Anyway, Margaret marries Lennox and then goes to visit her parents a few months later, as they have moved north. What will happen when she meets John?
