The Sentinels battle for Praxis has stalled. They have been on the world of the warrior women for five months, but haven't made any progress since their first day. However an offhand question from Jack during a night of drinking provides an opportunity to break the stalemate; he must rely on his friends and a group of outcasts to free their world from the Invid.
