Post-Brotherhood/POA Ed decides the best way to learn is by teaching so he gets a job as an alchemy professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Being a teacher is complicated enough without the serial killer on the loose or the dementors surrounding the school and Ed still has a wedding to plan. He really should have stayed in Amestris.
