Dean Winchester has always had a guardian angel. Castiel was the one who protected Dean, and who befriended him when he had no one else. As Dean grew up, his feelings for Castiel grew until they blossomed into a much more intimate kind of love. This relationship left little room for Sam. Sam finally fled to college, his decision later leaving Dean with something he never expected.
