As Hermione becomes even more aware of all the Heir of Slytherin's capable of, she begins understanding that knowledge of books won't see her through everything. Upon realizing how poor she is in Defense Against the Dark Arts, it's hard to hold onto hope. Fortunately, Ron and Harry are there to remind her of what she's made of.
