So the Multiverse Messed Up

Most of the time the world is at peace and everyone can go through their lives, never knowing that there are many thems in many worlds. Whatever keeps the worlds in balance is doing its job well. However, every once in a while it messes up. Most of the time it's minor and no-one notices. But rarely, maybe once in several hundred years, the worlds will have a huge gaping mistake.
