Summary
A rickety old house with creaking floorboards and clattering shutters. A dusty, ancient place in which a miserable old man resides all alone, save his small staff of servants. It seems to be the last place any little girl should want to be. Claire Bealieu quickly becomes intrigued however, and she learns about a time before her, a past unknown.
