Laurent changed Bella before the La Push wolves rescue her. He carries her to the Denali clan in Alaska. They taught her all they know on fighting enemies. It's been 50 years since her change, her Yoda radar says go to Texas. She knows Peter because they met 10 years prior and they've communicated since then.
