Lucky Number Thirteen

Thirteen is a lucky number. Not good luck, but still lucky. And it has an interesting origin. Thirteen steps to the top of the gallows. Thirteen knots in a proper hangman's noose. So maybe, if Thirteen is so tied to luck, being assigned the number Thirteen in place of a name will help him survive the horrors to come.
