While doing rounds one night, Nathan ends up going through a time portal and ends up in 2022. While looking through the phone book, Nathan mistakenly believes he has found Elizabeth Thornton. He meets Lizzie Thornton, an art and theater teacher who is also nursing a heartbreak. Lizzie agrees to help Nathan back to Hope Valley. As time goes on, hearts begin to mend and open up again
