Hermione is five when her parents die in a car crash. The catch is, she was the cause of the car crash, and her parents weren't the good parents they were thought to be. Hermione is adopted through the muggle system, and though she grows up loved and cared for, she is not quite right when she gets to Hogwarts. Eventual Hermione/Luna pairing.
