Beginning trainers get a starter Pokémon to take with them on their journey. Every region has its own trio of starters. But when Professor Oak decides to help Professor Sycamore with his research in mega evolution by giving him a set of Kanto starters, the latter thought it would only be kind to return the favor. This year's new trainers will have larger selection to choose from.
