Evangeline Alexander, a young woman of 20, gets a job at the Opera Populaire as Richard, to get away from her other life. As she works, she sees a man hiding in the shadows, and hears the music from under the Opera house. When the man hidden in the shadows finds out her identity, what will happen? Will Eva look away from light? Will she listen to the music of the night?
