Summary
The known world was split between two powerful nations. In Essos, the dragon-riding Valyrians established the Valyrian Freehold after defeating the Old Empire of Ghis and the Rhoynar, and at Westeros, the Kingdom of Atlas ruled the northernmost territories in the continent.
