Harry is brutally rejected by every girl in school which leads him to The Three Broomsticks to drown his sorrows but comes out of there with a date for the ball. Madam Rosmerta is more than happy to do Harry this favor to be his date so he isn't ridiculed as the loser who couldn't find a date.
