The apocalypse is just about ending, few of the diseased creatures remain, but some still roam the land. Survivors have cordoned off areas of towns in the hopes that they can protect themselves, and if needs be, take what is theirs. This story focusses on multiple characters in a time and place where killing is a norm, and putting yourself over others can mean life and death.
