Five years ago, Arthur Kirkland's son ran away from home. Three years ago, he got a cat to help fill the void. Even so, with each passing day that his son is gone he withdraws further away from people. Little does he know that his new cat, Hero, is trying to help him move on and his reason for doing so is because he has a special connection with Alfred.
