Earth is a vassal to a powerful conclave of races. Several of the vassal races, including humans, seek to upend the status quo by looking for a rival power to challenge the might of the Conclave. But what if the rival is even worse? Could there, perhaps, be a third alternative that will grant Earth and the other races their freedom? This is a sequel to The Stars Are Cold Toys.
