I feel that Sesshomaru showed his affections towards Rin even while waiting for an answer to his proposal by gifting her and just showing up. He would always let it be her choice to be with him, but he put his feeling on the line hoping she would reciprocate his feelings. He would always be there for her even if she chose a human husband.
