It's a Stone?

Having a Stone that gives immortality is a thoroughly stupid idea. Why not have something you can't lose, like a tattoo, or a giant stone circle? The only viable way this would be considered smart is if the Stone could find itself. A different take on that night down in the dungeons, and how it changed everything else.
