In the beginning gods walked among the men of Planetos, within every nation and kingdom is ruled by a god amongst them. They traded and negotiated with each other but never fought against one another for a war between gods is destructive. The gods themselves are prone to ambitions and such the Wars of Divinity had ended ten thousand years of peace. Seven gods left to rule the world
