Hermione's first year at Hogwarts provides her with many unconventional experiences, but it is only at her first quidditch match that she realises the path she is on. Or: wherein Hermione sets a teacher on fire, is caught in two senses of the word, considers her future opportunities, prevaricates, confesses, and is assigned a punishment that isn't quite a punishment.
