1880s. Delphine lives a slightly unconventional life in the Cantons de l'Est, having been taken in by her cousin's family after tragedy struck several years prior. She tries her best to be of service to other mothers, and their young children. But change is coming, the region is full of anglophones and francophones alike, trying to make a living.
