Written for The Quidditch League Fanfiction Competition round 8- Bellatrix is the 3rd brightest star in the constellation Orion; it is also known as the Amazon Star. The Amazons were warrior women. Bella is the Latin plural of bellum, war, & the adjective beautiful. Trix is a feminine suffix. Thus, Bellatrix is the Latin word for a female warrior or an embodiment of feminine beauty
