The injections were to make us as human as possible; we would sleep, breath, eat, lose our powers and strength, as well as our speed. they choose one member from each coven. Me, Carlisle, Zafrina, Siobhan and Amun were the ones that volunteered, as the leaders of our covens we felt like it was our responsibility to take the risk. Apparently it didnt mix well with animal blood.
