Set after DANGANRONPA IF. Naegi and his 13 classmates managed to escape Hope's Peak Acacdemy thanks to the sacrifice of Mukuro Ikusaba, yet they face uncertain dangers due to the "contamination" of the outside world, and they are now in danger of being forced back to the academy as Junko Enoshima commences a "purge"-like challenge as she entices its citizens to hunt them down.
