It has been eight years since Clemont's journey with Ash. Serena has moved on with her life and Bonnie has gone on her own pokemon journey. Clemont has returned to being the Lumiose City Gym Leader. He is content with his life, despite his periods of depression. It is only when a new person starts to show up at the gym that he realizes that maybe he isn't as content as he thought.
