Arthur, a failing author with an addiction, François (or Francis) teaches poetry at a run-down school, and Alfred with a past filled with bullet-holes, cross paths. Their journey leads them to self-discovery and self-respect. Prejudices melt away, the past is respected but not over glorified, and salvation for a miserable author in a foreign country is found.
