Expectations

Albus Severus Potter comes from a family of war heroes and is son of the chosen one. People expect great things from him. Scorpius Malfoy comes from a long line of Slytherins and is the son of a Death Eaters. He has to prove that he isn't evil, like people expect. The parents of the two kids were enemies, so people wouldn't expect them to be anything other than enemies.
