Bella Swan wasn't sure what part of, 'sure Edward, I would love to come to your house for dinner' became 'sure Edward, a dinner party with a group of vampires I don't know would be great'. While the girl had nothing against dinner or houses or even vampires at that point, she took great offense against parties. Bella Swan simply wasn't a party type of girl. For good reason.
