Aspiring alt-humour poet Jake Peralta's journey to become the master of poetry is peppered with small-time gigs, prestigious contests and filled with a lot of hard work. On the way he meets rising star of the poetry world Amy Santiago, becomes her bitter rival, helps her out of a slump, and maybe falls a little bit in love with her.
