While visiting America with the Dursley's, Harry decides to leave and pretty much abandon the magical world. he applies and is granted American citizenship. he joins the United States Navy and forgets all about the magical Britain and Britain all together, but is called and has no choice but to go back to Britain to deal with Voldemort.
