A lot has changed in the year after the closing of the Makishima case. Inspector Akane Tsunemori has taken charge of Division 1, and a new case is on the rise. A hacker, known as Sphinx, is victimising civilians that link to the 7 deadly sins. The question is, why? And is he/she working alone? Or in a cult?
